Pregnancy Pilates

Our pregnancy Pilates classes focus on strengthening and stretching exercises that are safe and effective for women during there pregnancy. During pregnancy the body undergoes changes that affect the joints and postural alignment. Specific Pilates exercises to support the body during these changes helps prevent pregnancy-related discomfort resulting from these changes. Strengthening of the pelvic floor is another useful benefit to performing Pilates exercises as these assist with preventing incontinence & pelvic instability, which can result in lumbar and pelvic pain, during & after pregnancy. Thus Pilates will assist women with having a better labour.
We continue to offer Pregnancy Pilates classes every Saturday at 10:30am for those who are expecting or in the early post-natal stage. 

Before commencing Pilates classes it is essential to have an assessment with one of our physiotherapists and attain clearance from your G.P., obstetrician or midwife if you have any medical conditions that may affect your participation.
